ADATA 16GB DDR5-5600 CL46 Desktop RAM
A single 16GB DDR5 desktop module rated by ADATA at up to 5600 MT/s and 1.1V. It has its own power management IC and on-die error correction, and fits DDR5 motherboards from AMD and Intel.
A Standard DDR5-5600 Stick
ADATA rates this module at up to 5600 MT/s, against the 3200 MHz ceiling of mainstream DDR4. Add a second identical module to run both memory channels on an AMD or Intel DDR5 desktop.
Stability Built Into the Module
An onboard power management IC regulates the module's own power, and on-die ECC corrects errors inside the DRAM chips in real time. ADATA lists it for operation from 0 °C to 85 °C.
Architectural Innovations
5600 MT/s Data Rate
ADATA's DDR5-5600 U-DIMM runs at up to 5600 MT/s, a big step from DDR4's 3200 MHz maximum. On a 64-bit module that works out to 44.8 GB/s of theoretical peak bandwidth, against 25.6 GB/s for DDR4-3200.
1.1V With an Onboard PMIC
The module runs at 1.1V, which ADATA says makes it 8% more power-efficient than DDR4. The power management IC in ADATA's close-up sits on the module itself and turns the motherboard's 5V supply into steady memory power.
On-Die ECC
Error correcting code inside each DDR5 chip fixes errors automatically in real time, which ADATA says improves stability and reliability. It works within the chips and is not a replacement for the system-level ECC memory used in servers.
DDR5 Notch, Not DDR4
As ADATA's comparison shows, DDR5 U-DIMMs keep DDR4's size and 288 pins but move the key notch. This module only fits DDR5 desktop slots and will not go into a DDR4 motherboard.
