ARCTIC MX-4 — Metal-Free Thermal Compound, 4 g
MX-4 is ARCTIC's long-running grey thermal compound for CPUs and graphics cards. It is metal-free, electrically non-conductive and non-capacitive, so a stray smear near the socket will not short components, and it is rated for continuous use from -50 to 150 °C. The 4 g syringe has a viscosity of 31,600 poise and a density of 2.5 g/cm³, and ARCTIC describes it as easy to apply even for beginners.
CPU and GPU Repastes
A 4 g syringe covers several CPU applications or a graphics-card repaste, with a grey compound that spreads under cooler pressure.
Safe for First-Time Builders
Because MX-4 is not electrically conductive, excess paste near the socket or SMD components does not create a short — a safer choice than metal-based compounds.
