Gigabyte B850 AI TOP — Dual 10GbE, Two PCIe 5.0 x16 Slots & Wi-Fi 7 for AM5 AI Workstations
The B850 AI TOP is GIGABYTE's workstation-class AMD B850 ATX board for Ryzen 9000, 8000 and 7000 processors, built for running and fine-tuning AI models at your desk. It pairs two Marvell AQtion AQC113C 10GbE ports, two CPU-connected PCIe x16 slots (x16, or x8/x8 at PCIe 5.0 with Ryzen 9000/7000), two PCIe 5.0 x4 M.2 sockets, ECC UDIMM support up to 256 GB and a 16+2+2 phase digital twin VRM with 110A smart power stages.

Every connector, located before you unbox
AMD Socket AM5 — Centre
Accepts Ryzen 9000, 8000 and 7000 Series desktop processors. Ryzen 9000/7000 unlock the full PCIe 5.0 lane layout; Ryzen 8000 APUs run the slots at PCIe 4.0.
16+2+2 Phase Digital Twin VRM — Top & Left
16 VCORE phases (8+8 parallel) on 110A smart power stages, 2 SOC phases at 80A and 2 MISC phases, under the VRM Thermal Armor Advanced heatsinks.
4 × DDR5 DIMM (Memory UD Slot D5) — Right
Dual-channel, up to 256 GB (64 GB per DIMM), DDR5-8600 OC with AMD EXPO or XMP, and ECC unbuffered module support for error-correcting AI and compute rigs.
PCIEX16 — PCIe UD Slot X
Primary CPU slot running PCIe 5.0 x16, reinforced with a single-piece zinc-alloy armor anchored to a backplate and rated for 10× load-bearing, plus PCIe EZ-Latch Plus quick release.
PCIEX8 + PCIEX2 — Lower slots
Second x16-length CPU slot at PCIe 5.0 x8 (the top slot drops to x8 when it is filled) for a second GPU or an NVMe card, plus a chipset PCIe 4.0 x2 slot shared with M2C_SB.
3 × M.2 under M.2 Thermal Guard — Across PCB
M2A_CPU and M2B_CPU at PCIe 5.0 x4, M2C_SB at PCIe 4.0 x2; all three take 2280 up to 25110 drives, with screwless EZ-Latch Click heatsinks.
4 × SATA 6Gb/s + EZ Debug Zone — Right edge
Four SATA ports with RAID 0/1/10, a debug LED readout, and onboard power and reset buttons for open-bench testing.

Power Delivery & Thermals
What feeds the socket, and what keeps it steady under long AI and render loads
Digital Twin VRM (8+8 parallel)
Sixteen VCORE phases run as two parallel banks of eight on 110A smart power stages, built to keep a 16-core Ryzen 9 fed with clean current through hours-long inference, compile and render runs.
VRM Thermal Armor Advanced with heatpipe
The VRM heatsinks use a heatpipe and sit on 5 W/mK thermal pads, and GIGABYTE quotes 4× the cooling surface for this heatsink design.
M.2 Thermal Guard Ext.
One extended heatsink spans two M.2 slots and is held by screwless EZ-Latch Click mounts; GIGABYTE measures up to 7°C lower SSD temperature, keeping PCIe 5.0 drives out of thermal throttle.
Smart Fan 6 with pump & flow sensing
Eight fan/pump headers, two temperature sensor headers, noise detection and water-cooling flow-rate monitoring, all tunable from the BIOS AIO Fan Control page.

Will It Fit Your Build?
Check these before you add to cartProcessor
AMD Ryzen 9000, 8000 or 7000 on socket AM5. Use a Ryzen 9000/7000 CPU if you plan to run two graphics cards — Ryzen 8000 APUs disable the PCIEX8 slot.
Memory
DDR5 only, 4 DIMMs, up to 256 GB. Both ECC and non-ECC unbuffered modules work; check GIGABYTE's memory support list for 4-DIMM high-speed kits.
Two GPUs
PCIEX16 and PCIEX8 split to x8/x8 PCIe 5.0 when both are filled. Plan for a case and PSU that fit two dual-slot or larger cards.
Storage
Two PCIe 5.0 x4 M.2 sockets plus one PCIe 4.0 x2, four SATA ports. Installing a drive in M2C_SB disables the PCIEX2 slot.
Wi-Fi 7 on Windows 10
GIGABYTE states the Wi-Fi 7 module needs Windows 11 to work properly — there is no Windows 10 driver. 6 GHz channel availability depends on local regulation.
Case
Standard ATX, 30.5 × 24.4 cm — fits any ATX mid or full tower.
