LEXAR

Lexar NQ780 512GB M.2 2280 PCIe Gen4 NVMe SSD

Lexar's NQ780 is a PCIe Gen 4x4 NVMe drive built around an 8-channel Gen 4 controller, with Host Memory Buffer (HMB) and SLC caching. The 512GB model is rated at up to 5000MB/s read and 2500MB/s write with 300TBW endurance, and its single-sided 2.45 mm design fits desktops and thin laptops alike.

Gaming & Boot Drive

Fast Loads on a Gen4 Budget

Up to 5000MB/s sequential read, with HMB and SLC caching that Lexar says speed up game loads and transfers and cut latency. 512GB is a sensible size for Windows, your apps and a few installed games.

Laptop Upgrades

Single-Sided and Power-Aware

Components sit on one side only, so it fits slim laptop M.2 slots that have no room underneath. Lexar's Intelligent Power Control adjusts power draw to the workload, which helps on battery.

Standard 2280 Size, 6 Grams

The label reads M.2 2280 PCIe Gen4x4 NVMe SSD: 80 × 22 mm, the size used by nearly every current desktop board and laptop. Lexar lists the drive at 2.45 mm thick with the label and 6 g in weight.

PCIe Gen 4x4

Four PCIe 4.0 Lanes Through the M-Key Edge

The gold-finger M-key edge carries four PCIe 4.0 lanes to an 8-channel Gen 4 controller, which Lexar uses for both peak and sustained performance. In a PCIe 3.0 slot it still works, at Gen3 speed.

Single-Sided Design

Thin Enough for Laptops

Seen low and side-on, the board stays thin because every component is on one face. That single-sided layout is what Lexar recommends it for in laptops, where the slot leaves no space under the drive.

Sequential Read & Write Performance Comparison Index

Manufacturer-rated maximum sequential read (R) and write (W) speeds in MB/s. Real speeds depend on the slot, file size and cache state.

Frequently Asked Questions & Store Policies

Will it work in my PCIe 3.0 M.2 slot? +

Yes. PCIe 4.0 NVMe drives are backward compatible with PCIe 3.0 M.2 slots, but they run at Gen3 speed there, which caps reads at roughly 3500 MB/s. You need a PCIe 4.0 M.2 slot to reach the rated 5000 MB/s.

Does it fit a laptop? +

Usually, if the laptop has an M.2 2280 NVMe slot. Lexar designed the NQ780 single-sided, with components on one face only, for slim laptop slots. Check that your laptop's slot is NVMe (M-key) and not SATA-only.

What do HMB and SLC cache mean? +

Host Memory Buffer lets the drive borrow a small slice of system RAM for its mapping tables, and SLC cache writes incoming data quickly to a fast buffer first. Lexar says both speed up game loads and transfers and reduce latency. Very long writes can run slower once the cache fills.

How much can I write to it? +

Lexar rates the 512GB model at 300 TBW (terabytes written), with an MTBF of 1.5 million hours. That is far more than a typical home user writes in many years.

Does it come with a heatsink? +

No, it is a bare drive. Most desktop motherboards include an M.2 heatsink you can fit over it; laptops cool it through their own chassis.

How do I update its firmware? +

With Lexar DiskMaster, Lexar's free SSD tool. It also shows drive health and can securely erase private files.

What warranty does this SSD carry? +

It is covered by the authorized distributor warranty with local technical support. Details in our Warranty Policy ↗.

What payment and installment options are available? +

Cash on delivery, cards, and installments through valU, Sympl and banks. See our Payment Methods ↗.

How fast is shipping and delivery across Egypt? +

Orders are delivered within 2 to 7 business days across all Egyptian governorates in secure armored packaging (with pickup available from our 6th of October headquarters). See our Shipping Policy ↗.

Can AHW Store install it in a complete PC? +
