MSI PRO H610M-E DDR4 — the LGA 1700 workhorse that keeps DDR4 alive
A business-focused Micro-ATX board on the Intel H610 chipset that lets you drop a 12th, 13th or 14th Gen Intel Core processor onto DDR4 memory you already own. You get a Steel Armor-reinforced PCIe 4.0 x16 slot for the graphics card, a Gen3 x4 M.2 slot for the boot drive, and legacy HDMI plus VGA outputs that still talk to older office displays.

Board Map
Every connector, located before you unbox
LGA 1700 CPU socket — dead centre
Takes 12th, 13th and 14th Gen Intel Core, Pentium Gold and Celeron processors. The retention frame is standard LGA 1700, so every LGA 1700 cooler mount fits without an adapter.
VRM stage and 8-pin EPS — upper left
MSI Core Boost layout feeds the socket through a dedicated 8-pin EPS 12V connector. The stage runs bare (no VRM heatsink), which is why this board is matched to locked and mid-tier CPUs rather than a K-series overclock.
2 × DDR4 DIMM slots — right edge
Dual-channel DDR4 up to 64 GB at 3200 MHz. MSI's Memory Boost isolates the DDR circuit from the rest of the PCB so XMP profiles hold their timings.
PCIe 4.0 x16 with Steel Armor — lower middle
The long slot is wrapped in MSI Steel Armor: extra solder anchor points that carry the weight of a heavy triple-fan GPU and shield the contacts from electromagnetic interference.
M.2 Gen3 x4 slot — directly below the socket
One 32 Gb/s M.2 socket accepting 2242, 2260 and 2280 drives in either NVMe or SATA mode — so an older M.2 SATA stick still boots here.
Chipset heatsink — lower centre
A low-profile passive block cools the H610 die. Combined with Frozr AI Cooling, system fan duty is driven by live CPU and GPU temperature rather than a fixed curve.
4 × SATA 6 Gb/s and front headers — right and bottom edges
Four SATA ports for hard drives and 2.5" SSDs, plus front-panel audio, USB and system panel headers laid along the bottom edge for clean cable routing in a Micro-ATX chassis.
4 × EZ Debug LEDs — lower left, beside the battery
Four POST LEDs light up for CPU, DRAM, VGA and BOOT. If the machine will not start, the lit LED tells you which component to check first — no beep-code decoding.

Power Delivery & Thermals
What feeds the socket, and what keeps it steadyCore Boost power layout
MSI routes CPU current through a premium trace layout and digital power design, delivering it to the socket with less distortion under sustained multi-core load.
Frozr AI Cooling
The board reads live CPU and GPU temperature and sets system fan duty automatically — the case stays quiet at idle and ramps only when the silicon actually heats up.
Passive chipset heatsink
The H610 die runs under a dedicated passive block. No chipset fan means one less moving part to fail or whine in an office machine that runs all day.
Honest positioning
The VRM stage carries no heatsink. This is a board for locked and mid-tier CPUs — an i3, i5 or a non-K i7 — not for pushing a K-series chip past its power limit.

Will It Fit Your Build?
Check these before you add to cartProcessor
Any 12th, 13th or 14th Gen Intel Core, Pentium Gold or Celeron on LGA 1700. Best paired with locked i3 / i5 / non-K i7 parts.
Memory
DDR4 only — 2 slots, up to 64 GB, 3200 MHz. Your existing DDR4 kit carries over; DDR5 will not physically fit.
Case
Micro-ATX board — drops into any Micro-ATX, Mid-Tower or Full-Tower ATX chassis.
Graphics card
One PCIe 4.0 x16 Steel Armor slot, reinforced for heavy triple-fan cards. Check card length against your case, not the board.
Storage
1 × M.2 (NVMe or SATA) plus 4 × SATA 6 Gb/s. Room for a fast boot drive and four bulk drives.
Operating system
Officially supports Windows 11 and Windows 10 64-bit. TPM header on board for Windows 11 requirements.
No onboard Wi-Fi or Bluetooth
Wired Gigabit Ethernet only. Budget for a PCIe or USB Wi-Fi adapter if the machine cannot reach a network cable — the PCIe 3.0 x1 slot is free for exactly this.
No CPU overclocking
The H610 chipset does not support CPU multiplier overclocking. Memory runs at its rated 3200 MHz ceiling.
